I like the first one best. I love that you are being creative with the elements you have created and found to use.
Regarding the navigation, I would recommend lining them up maybe to the right. The creativity is good, but from a user standpoint, we want to make sure they know it's navigation. so maybe you could use the same treatment,but have them in a horizontal line flush right.
That would also help with the large amount of space it's taking up at top of page.
I'd also look at the typ you have in the center. It's a little wide. You might want to make that two columns or break it up with a photo....
